I think you can make a strong case that it’s David M. King of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the named plaintiff in the King v. Burwell case that is giving the Supreme Court another bite at the “gut healthcare reform” apple. Why, you ask? Well, this is why:
But Mr. King said that he was not really worried about the outcome of the case, King v. Burwell, because as a Vietnam veteran, he has access to medical care through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
If he wins, Mr. King said, “the left will blow it out of proportion and claim that eight million people will lose their health insurance.” But he said lawyers had assured him that “things are in play to take care of the problem.”
Rarely has the bedrock right-wing principle of “I got mine, fuck you” been so explicitly stated. But his lawyers, who definitely care about the uninsured and aren’t just bullshitting their client so he doesn’t change his mind and drop the suit, have assured him that, you know, things are in play.
